The firm delivers program management and technical oversight for connected vehicle technologies and is experienced in developing smart cities by equipping roadside devices, smart traffic signals and vehicles with connected vehicle technology, as well as managing the data and systems.

About Jason Fischer, Director of Innovation at Michael Baker International
Jason Fischer is the Director of Innovation for Michael Baker and is based in the firm’s Jacksonville, Florida office. He is a seasoned leader with over 18 years of experience in government, transportation and energy. He has a proven ability to develop and execute strategic plans, manage complex projects and build relationships with key stakeholders. He has expertise in public policy, procurement and transportation technology and is passionate about using technology to improve people's lives.
Specifically, Mr. Fischer has a deep understanding of the transportation technology industry and the challenges and opportunities that new technologies like artificial intelligence, AVs, 5G/broadband and electric vehicles present.
Mr. Fischer is a strong advocate for using technology to improve people's lives and help them be more connected with the people and world around them. He believes that through innovation, we can create a future that is healthier, safer and prosperous for all.
He served as a member of the Florida House of Representatives for the 16th district from 2016 to 2022. In this role, he was the leading voice on AVs, broadband access, cybersecurity and many other complex and technical issues.
Mr. Fischer earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of North Florida.
Mr. Fischer’s leadership and strategic vision have contributed significantly to the success of numerous projects, making him an ideal representative for Michael Baker on our board.
